Product Overview

Brand: Dunhill
Model: Square Boy
Color: Silver Plated
Made in: Switzerland 1938 by Alfred Dunhill Ltd.
History:

Highlight of the early years was another Dunhill break-trough: a double wheel to reduce the effort needed to make a spark. In mid 30s came the Tallboy, the first lighter to have the mechanism concealed. Improved flint action meant less adjustment towards the end of the flint life.

A component that has remained virtually unchanged to this day was introduced in the late 30s a new flint action which made screwing up unnecessary. This significant advance was introduced on the Handy and Square Boy.

Observations:

Marks in the base: Dunhill - London - Made in Switzerland - Pat Nº 477768 - U.S.A. Pat. 2102108 - Other Pat. Pending.

Silver Plated Classic "Barley" Design.

Mechanism: Lift arm with horizontal flint tube.

The base screw is original and has a flint storage.

There are 3 (three) initials engraved on the lighter: "M R I".

Fluid petrol is removed from the lighter before shipping because it is classified as a hazardous material by the courier services.
