History:
  • This is a nice version of the "The Dunhill Extra Long Handy" or "Savory" (if sold in Paris) was first catalogued by Dunhill in 1936. This is a very rare and difficult to find lighter in this size.

  • A component that has remained virtually unchanged to this day was introduced in the late 30's a new flint action which made screwing up unnecessary. This significant advance was introduced on the Handy and Squareboy.

Marks in the base:

Dunhill - London - Made in Switzerland - Pat. Nº 477768 - U.S.A. Pat. 2102108 - Other Pat. Pending.

Mechanism:

Lift arm with double wheel, horizontal flint inside the lighter’s body, the base screw is original and has a flint storage. Fully functional with a Strong spark.

Observations:

 Classic pattern: Diamond head design.

The lid closes sharply. There are NO initials engraved in  the lighter.

 Fluid petrol is removed from the lighter before shipping because it is classified as a hazardous material by the courier services.

Condition:

NO box and NO Papers.  

The lighter is used in Excellent conditions (not easy to find in this cosmetic contiditon) with some minor details (according with it's age) as you can see in the photos (no dings, no bumps)works properly. It has new cotton, new wick and new stone.
