Hans Wilsdorf (22 March 1881 – 6 July 1960) was a German-British business man, best known as the founder of Rolex and Tudor. Hans Wilsdorf, the founder of Rolex, was not only a visionary entrepreneur whose multitude of inventions—such as the first water-resistant wristwatch—changed the world. He was an altruist who has left his mark beyond the art of watchmaking thanks to his enduring philanthropic spirit. |

This rare and unusual vintage statue depicts Mr. Wilsdorf, standing, dressed in his frock coat, with hat and high knee boots. With his right hand he holds his salesman suitcase. I cannot determine what are the initials on his suitcase, what is visible is the iconic Rolex five-point crown |

A bit of History: |
About 1943 approx, someone opened a store, in Buenos Aires - Argentina, naming it: HANS WILSDORF as you can see in the AD in one of the pictures. In 2021 one of these figures was auctioned in BestArtia Fine Art Gallery, are not easy to find. |
