HANS  WILSDORF  -

ROLEX & TUDOR Founder
 - Statue / Figure -

      Who was
Hans Wilsdorf:

Hans Wilsdorf (22 March 1881 – 6 July 1960) was a German-British business man, best known as the founder of Rolex and Tudor.

Hans Wilsdorf, the founder of Rolex, was not only a visionary entrepreneur whose multitude of inventions—such as the first water-resistant wristwatch—changed the world. He was an altruist who has left his mark beyond the art of watchmaking thanks to his enduring philanthropic spirit.

Hans Wilsdorf died in Geneva, Switzerland on July 6, 1960. He was buried in the Kings' Cemetery, in Geneva, next to his first and second wives. Hans Wilsdorf's legacy and contribution to the world of watchmaking is incomparable. The Hans Wilsdorf Foundation, founded in 1945, still owns Rolex. Despite his death in 1960, both Rolex and his foundation remain faithful to his original vision: to endure over time.
